India outplayed China by dominating the last group stage game of the ongoing Asia Cup Hockey by 7-0, securing a birth in the final for the ninth time. The Indian Hockey team will test the resolve of defending champions South Korea in the final on Sunday.
India was ahead 3-0 during the first half of the match with goals from Shilanand Lakra, Dilpreet Singh and Mandeep Singh. In the second half, Raj Kumar Pal (one goal), Sukhjeet Singh(one goal) and Abhishek(two goals) ensured a decisive win for India.
This tournament is a qualifier for next year’s Hockey World Cup. India’s performance has been up and down during the tournament, but today they proved that they had saved the best for last.
